After an evening of fidgeting because I couldn’t knit and due to server connection issues I couldn’t play WoW I thought I’d go crazy. However my sanity is was saved when I found my dpn hiding deep under the couch and the server connect is back to normal. Ah my inner peace has been restored.

I had this pattern for tube socks and I really wanted a simple project to do after all the work on the bag. I am using yarn from my stash as I promised to do until September. I love making socks for myself because I have pretty big feet and I customize the length so they fit me. The pattern has smaller sizes for children so I think I’ll make a few pairs for the girls too.

I honestly have nothing on needles right now. Absolutely nothing. I haven’t made a pair of socks in over a year. I think I’m due.

Here’s the new closure which I think is at least prettier then the old one. It’s also a bigger opening.

Here’s a view looking in.

I took a few pictures of the girls today that I wanted to share. Also the cats, aka the brothers, showed me how a shawl makes for a nice bed.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted for so long. I’ve been busy as usual. Busy or not I’ve been knitting lots. The potty seat bag was finished but I decided I didn’t care for the top and the way it closed and ripped it out today. It actually wasn’t difficult to pull out a double hemmed piece like I thought it might be.

I love this stitch marker – one of 4 that spell F-R-O-G that my aunt Sadie Says gave me for Christmas.

I think my favorite part of the bag is the bottom (well second to the diamond pattern I used in the main part).

I hope to finish off the top by the weekend.

I am still adjusting to the fact that a new little boy started in my daycare this week. That’s 3 little boys and my 2 girls that I care for. It works out well because I never have more then 4 children in the house at one time.

I’m exhausted more from staying up too late play WoW. Yes I’m still playing and I can’t believe how addicted an adult woman can get to these things. Although I am addicted to knitting so addiction is in the blood.

Sadie Says told me about the knit from your stash project a little while ago and I’ve decided that I’m up for the challenge. I have plenty of yarn in my stash so running out shouldn’t be a problem. Being a good girl and not purchasing any new yarn from now until September will be difficult.

I went to visit my mom on the weekend. When I get there she explains that she has been cleaning up the basement and has some yarn she got from my grandma’s stash when she past away a few years ago. So much for trying to use up my stash this year. I now have at least 4.5 rubber tubs full of yarn, half of it is as at least as old as me. I have a box of yarn called Domion Siwash carded wool. It’s 6 strands of carded, but not twisted fleece. You are supposed to give it a light twist while knitting with it. I’ve never heard of such a thing before. And hell ya I’m going to try it out.

I did a quick search on the wool and only found a pattern that uses the wool on ebay. The pattern is a vintage pattern for a sweater coat. I remember the sweater coat my grandmother made for my mom using the very wool I now own. I think mom still has that beautiful coat.

I’ll have photos of the potty bag soon. I’ve finished the bag but still need to create the strap and the i-cord I’ll be using for the drawstring.

Here’s just one of the many reasons why I knit:

I meant to post this picture ages ago. My long time friend Shari, sewed these Christmas dresses for the girls last August.

I’m rather jealous since the woman not only sews like a genius she knits too. I couldn’t sew an apron if my life depended on it.
